At first glance it all sounds a bit “Raiders of the Lost Ark” – exploring a hidden path in our minds which can lead to hidden treasures and resolving part hurts.
But read Heart in the Womb by London based Obstetrician, Dr Amali Lokugamage and I challenge you not to do a “Whoo Hoo” about the exciting potential of your “pregnancy brain”!
In her book Dr Amali writes about the inner wisdom she discovered “leading to significant advances in consciousness” during her own pregnancy and you’ll realise it’s not something to be underestimated.
Dr Lokugamage advises “it is a special time that, if allowed to unravel its gifts, can help a woman to access right-brain activity… leading to new levels in confidence in life. A women can overturn the “shadow” – i.e, fearful or emotional – elements lurking in her consciousness and, having transformed them, arrive at a victorious state of being.”
I am on a mission right now to help change the way we view and perceive pregnancy and motherhood particularly in the City of London. To encourage a greater understanding of the valuable contribution, both emotionally and commercially, women can make if we are able to be more flexible in our working arrangements and truly see the untapped power and skill set of the pregnant and mother mind.
