Managing maternity differently is something the majority of businesses say they want to do yet many are not getting it right.
#Working Forward and the guidance from The Equalities and Human Rights Commission provides businesses with a framework and starting point to pledge and commit to change but we know there are many businesses who want to dive deeper, have more bespoke support or personal hand-holding through the change process.
As part of our campaign “Changing 100,000 Lives” which aims to positively influence the maternity journeys of 100,000 women and girls by 2020 and reverse the statistics revealed by the EHRC, Bumps and the Boardroom have recently launched a new 4-step series of support to help businesses value their female talent and nurture their parents and parents-to-be more effectively. We have included tailored support to men and male leaders to recognise the differences in the way we nurture and manage.
As a result we will be running a series of events in the early New Year, partnering with gender diversity specialists, businesses and organisations that are committed to change and supported by the EHRC.
We will be focusing on various industry sectors including law, finance, adland and property with plans shaping up for events both within London and outside.
We have welcomed support from businesses offering to host our events that are proud to be providing a platform for change but are still looking for venues and supporters.
