Why It’s Good to Connect

I was excited to see the July edition of the Executive Coaching Consultancy newsletter which featured information on Bumps and the Boardroom appearing in my inbox recently.

Founder Geraldine Gallacher joined me as part of my 7 days of 12 conversations and shared her VAST model to be used during the maternity process. The ECC newsletter focused on collaborations from a number of angles and got me thinking.

Geraldine recently met with with Eleanor Mills leading to her business being featured in the Sunday Times Girls Get Ahead campaign. It’s an interesting read looking at 3 generations of women now being found in the workplace.

With three generations of women now in the workplace, how do we define success?

I also really enjoyed Debbie Moore’s tips on how to be both decisive and collaborative and as I am about to launch my own Mastermind / Mentoring group program I was interested to read Ashurst’s Deborah Dalgliesh who helped explain the difference between mentoring, coaching and sponsoring.

Over the last few weeks I have been connecting and talking to Heads of Diversity and women interested in the issue of securing the pipeline of executive female talent and committed to creating opportunities for generations to come.

I genuinely believe we can manage the pregnancy journey differently benefiting both men and women, business and individuals but it takes a willingness of coming together, sharing ideas, challenges and solutions to make a new way of working that becomes the norm.

The collaborative and supportive attitude I have received to date has been uplifting and inspiring.

The Executive Consultancy are celebrating their 20th birthday and I would like to wish them huge continued success and thank Geraldine for coming on board and collaborating with me. I’m very happy to take a leaf out of Geraldine’s book and spotted an opportunity to do things differently.

Many Happy Returns!
