Is Feminine Power the key to success?

Can you learn to channel your inherent feminine power by connecting to your inner strength and outer co-conspirators to create the life of your dreams?

Success can be defined as “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose with a favourable outcome”, but what does success look like to you? Back in 2016 I graduated from a 7-week Essential Course for the ‘Awakening Woman’, exploring the foundation principles of Feminine Power delivered by its Founder, Claire Zammit. Over the summer I chose to complete the course again (as recommended by Zammit to all her students). Re-establishing the theory in my head means it now feels like second nature to include the principles into my coaching and consultancy practice and embody them personally; helping myself and others to discover what a feminine version of success looks like in order to create a life that expresses who we truly are.

Zammit believes many women have disconnected from their inherent feminine power in order to fit into a world created primarily by (alpha) men, but that we can reconnect to the deeper truth of who we are by plugging back into 3 internal power centres, opening ourselves to the greater potential for our life as we do. Her 3 principles focus on letting go of beliefs which don’t serve you (making it difficult to breakthrough your own inner glass ceiling to your potential), honing your ability to trust yourself and using setbacks, obstacles and disappointments to move you forward, and finally how to forge powerful partnerships with others in order to collaborate, co-create, and magnetize limitless support & resources.

It’s not rocket science but as more women (and men) are telling me they want to focus on their family first and work second, and we are told female managers are less satisfied in their jobs than men, businesses need to open up to a new way of working that sits well with both male and female clients and employees and delivers results for all. A more feminine approach can be the solution.

With our “always on” culture and a sense that there are “others” hungry, ambitious and ready to jump into our place at the table if we take a moment to sit, breathe and enjoy life, it is easy to feel that we have to just keep the treadmill running beneath us. But I am sensing a sea change and a possible “tipping point” as I hear from more and more talented and outwardly successful women who have quit corporate life to create a work/life blend that works for them. Still achieving great things but on their terms and in a way that feels “right”. Businesses are lamenting a lack of senior women to promote to their boards whilst completely missing out on the wealth of talent that is directly under their nose, or recognising the changes they need to make to retain and promote with ease. My 5 challenges to change seem obvious when I highlight them as part of my leadership training but many businesses miss out on making them part of their everyday practice.

Women are natural born leaders and if you care to look for great business examples, inspiration is everywhere, from tech to finance, law to engineering. No industry is off-limits and if your calling is to be the first to achieve a certain role or status or just to break down walls and barriers in order realise your potential, then you absolutely can. I am not the CEO of a billion dollar enterprise or managing a large team (although I have in the past) but I am shaping the future of hundreds and possibly thousands of women and men though Bumps and the Boardroom’s coaching and training and writing my first book which is a long held dream. Gender is now more fluid and our genitals less of a mandate or restriction to follow a certain path but we can all benefit from understanding the transition to parenthood, its lessons and its positive impact on all areas of life, not least work (if harnessed properly). It is inherently natural for us to listen to our inner wisdom and make decisions from a deeper sense of knowing, so if having a family is your calling then love that and celebrate it in others! So many women I meet say they are delaying motherhood because of their careers rather than understanding that one can completely enhance the other.

Success is incredibly personal yet we are all fairly conditioned to believe it means certain fixed achievements and we won’t be happy or able to stop until we’ve ticked them off. Zammit believes the shift from feeling stuck and not realising your potential to unstoppable momentum and manifesting tangible and specific results, such as money in the bank, a home you love, healthy and happy relationships with family and friends, a loving partner and career that lights you up, is all possible once you listen to your own inner wisdom and awaken to your own value and unique gifts. I’ve found taking as little as 5 minutes a day to tune into my deeper truth is helping me find the answers and help others along the way.

Whether you are male or female, managing a team and in a leadership position or starting out in your career, being able to connect to your inner, feminine strength will help you find success for you and those around you.
