Today I am off to a large Global Corporation to meet their Diversity Steering Committee and discuss ways I can support their maternity initiatives and offer my external perspective on key work/life balance issues and better gender equality in their business.
I will be giving an insight into my knowledge of the pregnancy journey and the real value of the pregnancy mind, to better support the pipeline of strong female talent in their organisation up to Board level.
I am excited, passionate and ready to share with them some great nuggets of gold that they can easily start to implement for real change.
It seems apt that it is also National Work Life Week.
Today there will be the National Work-Life Week Conference featuring a series of workshops led by this years’ special award winners, a keynote address by Phil Smith, CEO of Cisco (and sponsor of NWLW) and the announcement of the Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark and SME benchmark results. The event is being hosted by Barclays at their office in Canary Wharf who are committed and transparent about their diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy and their journey to becoming the ‘Go-To’ bank.
My culmination of 10 years plus experience working 1-1 with women transitioning through pregnancy and motherhood has given me a wealth of valuable insights and answers to the real issues and obstacles that stop women returning to the workplace or combining children and a career and how to change this.
