Corporate Life Wizards
Danusia Malina Derben, Founder
Danusia Malina-Derben specialises in leadership transformation of senior executives and their teams. Her work is informed by her former role as Professor of Organisational Behaviour in the UK and U.S.A. where she constantly challenged the boundaries of what could be achieved within corporations. Used to working in a global environment, she has particular insight into the challenges of large organisations and the major roles within them.
Within her consultancy firm, Corporate Life Wizards Ltd, she concentrates on helping board teams to achieve world-class performance. As entrepreneur and advisor, Danusia is known for her ability to harness untapped potential in top leaders and to draw out this talent. Known for her effective blend of kick-ass-compassionate wisdom and expertise in organisational development, often called a pocket dynamo, she delivers large-scale cultural change transformation assignments, coaching projects, human capital strategies or one on one coaching with executives. Whatever the remit, she is deeply committed to excellence and working with masterful colleagues.
A prolific writer and broadcaster, she has addressed the Oxford Union beside Germaine Greer, and represented BBC-2 at the Edinburgh Film & TV Festival. As author of more than 30 international articles and book chapters on organizational behaviour & development, she remains one of a select few in the United Kingdom to secure publication in the prestigious US-based, Academy of Management Journal. As a scholar Danusia won funding to undertake groundbreaking research on aspects of business rarely covered: hedonistic consumption and sexuality in organizations – both areas led her across the world both within corporate environments and on the international lecture circuit. She is a big supporter of women’s leadership emergence and frequently delivers programmes developing top female talent.
As mother of ten children Danusia has tried every child care solution known to [wo]man, breastfed while negotiating million pound deals in her nightwear, and found herself simultaneously gobsmacked and thrilled when she discovered two years ago she was expecting triplets, exactly at the same time business was booming. As her favourite quote says, 'She who risks nothing, drinks no champagne!'
