Calm Yourself with Brahmari Breathing
During my yoga training our daily practice of Pranayama (breathing exercises) is something I loved.
Brahmari in Sanskrit is Bee. The humming breath or bee breath is superbly relaxing and calming.
Sit comfortably in a cross legged position on the floor or on a Pilates ball.
Begin by taking a long slow deep breath in through the nose.
Hum the exhale making an audible tone. Continue for around 5 minutes, breathing in and humming out.
This breath is very relaxing as it slows the breathing down and the vibration is surprisingly soothing.
Focus on the parts of your body that feel stiff or tired, even visualising sending the healing hum to wherever your body or mind needs it and the vibration will help.
Suitable to do during pregnancy.
