The Many Joys of being an Auntie
I am lucky to be an Auntie to 3 little ones. I have a nephew and 2 nieces.
Now they are not so little.
10, 8 and 5 1/2 but I remember their births as if they were yesterday.
The joys of being an Auntie are such that I feel prepared to being a mother rather than being put off. I have been able to indulge in aspects of parenting whilst still building my business. Going home to sleep after a week-end of babysitting. And my relationship with my sister has improved. Big time.
I get to spoil them, be silly with them and have a special bond that I hope will never be broken.
This week I am taking a few days off to indulge, enjoy and have fun. Lots of it!
Sandcastles, ice cream, football practice, tennis and more Rainbow Loom than you can poke a stick at. Dancing shows and dressing up.
My return to the trampoline is long overdue. I will be fluent in who scored and won in the Premier League and World Cup statistics to rival any pundit. Who’s the best – and worst players in the world, tennis, and cricket possibly as well and all the words to “For the First Time in Forever” and “Do you want to build a Snowman” (who cares if it’s August and sunny, if you’ve seen Frozen you’ll know). Sam Smith’s La La La and Rihanna’s Only Girl (In the World) are also big hits.
I cannot wait and I will return to work refreshed, a little frazzled but feeling glad all over and probably just a little bit broody.
